Y6 Maths
Data Handling
The children put their hand-eye co-ordination to the test by taking part in a bottle-flipping championships! After counting how many flips they could each do in a minute, they used the data to draw a scatter graph and then work out the mean, mode and range averages of their results.
Capacity
The children spent their maths lessons learning about capacity and how it is measured. After a bit of theory, they got to work by pouring a range of different drinks into a measuring jug and recording the amounts in millilitres and litres, before
analysing them afterwards. If they managed not to spill them, they got to drink them afterwards too!

2D Shape Construction
The children spent the morning learning about shapes and their features in Year 6, culminating in them using their knowledge and understanding to design a crazy golf hole of their own, featuring a variety of shapes as obstacles. To support their understanding they worked in groups on the playground, constructing a range of 2D shapes using only a skipping rope.
Our Y5 Work
Maths - Decimals
In maths, we have been looking at decimals. To make our lessons more exciting, we went outside and completed a variety of races to generate lots of data. We then answered reasoning and problem solving questions, based on the data we collected.
These children have all completed and know their times tables fluently up to 12 x 12.
This is a fantastic achievement and Mr England is so proud!

Our Year 4 Work...
Weighing It Up
We loved taking out the balances and scales during our maths lessons. As well as measuring standard weights, we tried to estimate the weight of a mystery bag of sugar and flour. We estimated well - some of us were only 50g off!
